Leed
Chuck Merritt is a LEED accredited professional and can
assist clients with the process of “Going Green”. Under the LEED program,
buildings can be designed as Certified, Silver, Gold or Platinum depending
on the number of credits earned during a LEED application. As a member of
the Long Island Chapter of USGBC, we continue to be involved with such
issues as water reduction and sustainable technologies.

Vapor Intrusion
Vapor Intrusion (VI) is becoming an area of growing concern,
so much so that the FHA recently started requiring tier 1 VI assessments
(at a minimum) in conjunction with multifamily, financing programs they offer.
Vapor Intrusion is the breakdown of contaminants in the soil or groundwater
that can volatize or become gaseous and then begin to rise into buildings
creating air quality issues. There is a four-tier process to determine if a
VI issue exists. The first tier is the least expensive and quickest to establish.
The process becomes more costly as you are required to meet each tier.
